Building a Safer Tomorrow Through Education
The Legacy Behind Fire Facts
Originally launched by City Fire Equipment, Fire Facts was created with a clear, practical mission: to demystify complex life safety codes for fire officials, code enforcement officers, facility managers, and service professionals. Navigating national, state, and local fire standards can be daunting. Fire Facts was built to bridge that gap—helping the professionals who enforce safety codes gain a deeper, shared understanding with the technicians who inspect, maintain, and repair fire protection systems every day.
A Turning Point for Campus & Community Safety
In January 2000, following the tragic Seton Hall University dorm fire, our mission took on a profound sense of urgency. The tragedy underscored a critical truth: compliance isn’t just about passing inspection—it’s about protecting human lives.
Responding to an urgent need for proactive life safety awareness, City Fire hosted the very first Fire Facts seminar directly on the Seton Hall campus. That pivotal event transformed an industry program into an enduring educational movement, establishing our core driving principle: prevention through education.
Growing Nationwide with Encore
What began as a focused, local effort in New Jersey has evolved into a premier industry benchmark. Today, in partnership with Encore Fire Protection, Fire Facts has expanded well beyond its original footprint into a recognized national seminar series spanning multiple states.
Through live, interactive seminars, hands-on demonstrations, and expert-led code breakdowns, Fire Facts brings hundreds of safety professionals together each year. We empower municipal inspectors, facility engineers, property managers, and first responders with the real-world compliance knowledge required to keep buildings—and the communities inside them—safe.
